From code to a controlled process.
Adjust the level setpoint, inflow or PID. Use MAN for gate control, or try the 40-second challenge.

CASCADE: gate lift is limited by the waterline. DIRECT: full stroke is allowed. MANUAL: you decide.

Setpoint · SP62.0%
Gate open · OUT42.0%
A low water level can cause water shortages and equipment to run dry. Overflow can cause flooding. Both conditions trigger visible alarms.

PV = level · SP = setpoint · OUT = gate travel (0–100%)
Control modesHow the demo works
CascadeLevel PID → inner gate-position control. Maximum lift is limited to the waterline.
Without cascadeThe level PID requests a gate position over its full travel, even above the waterline.
PID / Structured TextThe PID adjusts the gate to track setpoint. The Structured Text display illustrates the controller calculations as you tune Kp, Ki and Kd.
Manual / 40 s challengeYou control the gate. Two inflow changes and a burst of heavy rain make the 40-second challenge more demanding.

How sorting worksSignals / diagnostics
Colour sensor & routingThe colour sensor assigns each package a destination: A, B or straight ahead. The selected route is retained as the package moves along the conveyor.
Pneumatics & countingTwo pneumatic pushers divert packages to A and B. Unsorted packages continue straight. Each exit has a counter.
Jam · Photoeye timeoutA PLC can monitor the expected travel time between sensors. A package that takes too long to clear a photoeye or reach the next sensor may be blocked.
Jam · Motor monitoringA blockage may increase motor current or torque, or cause a speed deviation. A drive can detect these conditions. Create jam simulates either fault; no physical measurements are made.
